Currently, my gpu is running at 33 C to 36 C on idle or simple browsing, but went up to 44 C to 52 C when playing games (BF3, Super Street Fighter, etc.). Same with my cpu, which runs at 32 C to 36 C when idle, then go up to 44 C to 54 C when playing these games. I'm still using the stock HSF from my Core i3 540, and Aerocool Strike X casing with stock fans. Should i be alarmed with this? My current room temperature is around 25 C to 28 C. Any remedies?

Thank you very much,

Dan
Re:EVGA P55 LE and EVGA P55 Micro (sli) compatibility with Intel i3 540 (Sleepee)

 No problem!

Re:EVGA P55 LE and EVGA P55 Micro (sli) compatibility with Intel i3 540 (hellfest416)

Sleepee

It will work, yes. The i3-540 has 1156 pins, and will fit right into the 1156 socket on the P55 LE or the P55 Micro. Sites tend to leave it off because the i3 really finds its home on an H55 board, where the CPU's onboard video card can be utilized. However, since you will be using a dedicated video card (your GTX 460), that will not be a problem to you.

Again, the i3-540 will work with any P55 board.

Thank you very much for the infos. Cheers!

Dan
Re:EVGA P55 LE and EVGA P55 Micro (sli) compatibility with Intel i3 540 (Sleepee)

It will work, yes. Will it work? I read few sites earlier and it says that it will work with i3 540, however some PC enthusiast here in my country saying that these boards only supports i5 and i7 processors. It confuses me, considering i am a newbie. My current set up: Intel i3 540, 1156 Asus P7H55-M LE, 8gb G. Skill CL9D 1.5v ddr3 1333, EVGA gtx460 FTW, a couple of 500gb Seagate disk and cooler master silent pro m600. Thank you very much.

Dan
