EVGA Precision FAQ

  • When setting fanspeed on my 9 series card, after time my card reverts back to auto mode.
  • This has been corrected in the 175.16 driver or later, we recommend to use this driver for fanspeed adjustments.
  • My "Test" button is greyed out? How can I get this to work?
  • The "Test" button unfortunately is not supported on all graphics cards, this button is used as a helper for the cards that do support the "Test" function.
  • I cannot adjust my Shader Clock, how can I adjust this?
  • The shader frequency adjust is only available on 8 series GPU's and above, if you have a supported card, make sure to first uncheck the "Link" button.
  • How can I adjust fanspeed?
  • Make sure to uncheck the "Auto" button before adjusting this slider.
  • Does EVGA Precision need to be running in the background to set the clockspeeds?
  • No, EVGA Precision does not need to be running to set overclock settings, all that needs to be select is the "Apply" button.
  • I only see "Temperature" and "Core Clock" in the monitoring window, how can I view more?
  • You can do this in various ways, double click in this area to view more options, scroll this window, or scroll the mousewheel to see more real time running clockspeeds.
  • What is the difference between "Apply at Windows Startup" and "Start with Windows"?
  • Apply at Windows Startup sets your current clockspeeds and fanspeeds at Windows bootup, it does not start the actual utility, to run the actual utility at select "Start with Windows."
  • How can I enable Logitech keyboard LCD support?
  • Click the "Configuration" button (picture of wrench), then click on the "Monitoring" tab, select "Enable Logitech keyboard LCD display support" to enable this feature.
  • How can I enable On-Screen Hardware Monitoring?
  • Click the "Configuration" button (picture of wrench), then click on the "Monitoring" tab, select "Enable On-Screen Display support" to enable this feature.
  • I increased my graphics card clockspeeds too high and my screen is distorted. What do I do?
  • You may try to press <Ctrl>+<D> to immediately reset clock frequencies to defaults. If you applied unsafe clock frequencies at Windows startup and your screen is distorted when Windows starts you may hold <Ctrl> after logging in Windows to prevent these clocks from being applied.
  • I do not see the on-screen display when running Crysis in Vista64, and using the 64bit path.
  • This is currently a limitation of native 64bit apps, for now the only workaround is to use the 32bit executable, also this feature is not available for DX10 applications when using multisampled antialiasing.
