Q : Blazen22 Why doesn’t P55 have a North Bridge?
A : Didn't you see the video? |

|
Q : Blazen22 Why doesn’t P55 have a North Bridge?
A : Because it doesn't need it! The CPU has all the NB functioanlity built in. |

|
Q : What is the specific function of the molex connector on the P55 line of motherboards?
A : It adds more power to the PCIe BUS. Shamino found that while xtreme overclocking it can use it with multiple graphics cards |

|
Q : Are the mother boards usually made from customer feed back or a marketing plan that is created by the EVGA team?
A : Actually, primarily customer feedback! |

|
Q : What is newer about the ECP V2 than the original and is it compatible with X58?
A : the diff is that ECP v2 the volatge booster one of it is changed to vtt so u have 2 vcores 1 vtt, you can use it on x58 but the vtt booster will still boost vcore and not vtt |

|
Q : Why does the P55 not suppurt Triple Channel
A : The P55 supports dual channel only, the P55 platform is "lower cost" than X58 so this is one of the things you lose, real world performance doesn't suffer too much, but memory bandwidth can take a hit in benchmarks. |

Q : what is the function of the evgabot on the p55 and will it be compatible ?
A : Yes the EVBot is supported on the E657, E658, and E659 motherboards. It will support overclocking wihtout taking up any OS or System resources. |

Shamino |
|
Q : How does a 12+2 power design give it more stable power and up to 700% cleaner power?
A : well we use components esepcially mosfets and controller that cna run really high frequencies for switching, so in lets say 1 second the pwm switches 6 times faster and more times than a 250khz asus mobo the more u switch and faster response you will get lesser ripple cos cpus are dynamic their loads keepo changing as u run stuff , plus our caps are a mixture of capacitance and rttransient response |

|
Q : Can you name three key elements of the mother board than would make it appeal to gamers and over clocker’s?
A : DPHS - supports S775 and S1156 heatsinks, Higher PWM frequency, and Triple BIOS Support! |
| |
| 09/17/2009 6:06:20 PM |
Shamino |
|
Q : How does CPU PWM provide cleaner power?
A : check the other reply and also bear in mind you need a good mixture of capacitance and multi layer ceramic capacitors for big and small spikes |

Q : people have been posting some pretty awesome OC'ing on the P55....what is the highest anyone has ever gotten with EVGA boards and does the evgabot system help ?

Q : rephrasing my question from before....is Evgabot capable of providing stable OC'ing while still in windows? or must it still be done in bios?
A : Yes you can OC while still in windows. |

|
Q : what is the function of the evgabot on the p55 and will it be compatible ?
A : This is for on the fly overclocking while in Windows, an ipod like device that plugs into the motherboards i/o. Can also be used for select EVGA Graphics Cards! Like GTX 285 Classified! |

Q : people have been posting some pretty awesome OC'ing on the P55....what is the highest anyone has ever gotten with EVGA boards and does the evgabot system help ?
A : i did 5.6+ valid 5.7 screen but not fast enough to save valid,, for bclk 260+ with a random cpu and prolly 270+ with a good one evbot helps so that you bukmp- blcks so fast and help save time to easily save a valid file and also moving cpu speeds throughtout a benchmark to find the max speeds at every second of it |

Q : When a new Bios version comes out for the P55 do you need to flash the newer version to all 3 BIOS?
A : No you do not need to flash all three unless you want all of them updated. |

Q : Blazen22 When a new Bios version comes out for the P55 do you need to flash the newer version to all 3 BIOS?

|
Q : rephrasing my question from before....is Evgabot capable of providing stable OC'ing while still in windows? or must it still be done in bios?
A : it is more for fine tuning then for bumping 133 straight to 260, some stuff values are determined at boopt and if u say boot at 133 stuffs tighter than when u boot at 200 so a stable easy oc first from bios and tuning with evbot |

Q : How does the Classified P55 do in TRI/Quad SLI compared to X58 boards?
A : very comparable, you can check the p55 section for results |
| |
| 09/17/2009 6:11:36 PM |
EVGATech_JacobF |
|
Actually it comes in handy for BIOS comparisons, or you can have 3 completely desperate BIOS profiles. Also if you manage to kill 2 of them somehow :) |
| |
| 09/17/2009 6:12:01 PM |
Shamino |
|
Q : The P55 has limited SLI, right?
A : depends on model, from no sli to sli to tri sli |

|
Q : Why does every EVGA motherboard look so damn sexy?

Q : Is it easier to OC a 1156 I5/I7 or an X58?
A : bclk and ram easier on 1156, cpu about the same on air, on ln2 the x58 cpus currently clock better |
| |

Shamino |
|
Q : how much more bandwidth does the NF 200 chip provide over the P55 itself? is it sufficient for 2x 16x lanes?
A : hard to gauge all can tell by results and copmapring with x58 diff is very small like ahirline |

|
Q : mack4033 What is the typical time period it takes manfacture, to create and upgrade or build new mother boards?

Q : Radix One of the P55 mobo's is LE, is that Light Edition? and what exactly is different in LE?
A : LE doesn't have a specific meaning, but all you need to remember here is that the P55 LE is a lower end version of the P55, less power phases, no SLI, but still a great board. |

Shamino |
|
Q : How does dual clock generators help overclocking on the classy 200?
A : well u know the bclk is solely from one clockgen, usually every clcoks comes from a single cg and plls inside but for the p55 class its just for bclk and another for rest and its placed soooo near to cpu so clocks are very jitterless |
| |
| 09/17/2009 6:21:46 PM |
EVGATech_JacobF |
|
Q : Radix Because of the PCI-E 8x 8x limitations on the P55 mobos will we see decreased performance in SLI with this gen of cards?
A : With this gen the performance hit is very small. |

|
Q : Inside the CPU socket cavity there are low inductance surface mount capacitors, how does this differ from the competition?
A : soo, for capacitors u want capacitance without the inductance - inductance cuases power loss, so lesser the better |

Shamino |
|
Q : will Evgabot ever be expanded to platforms like X58 and other GPU's? specifically the 300 series?

Q : also, ive heard that 2 NF 200 chips would wreak havoc with eachother, if so why do you have 2 of these chips on some of your new P55 boards?

| |
| 09/17/2009 6:25:29 PM |

|
Q : What do you think on this motherboard will give an overclocker the greatest amount of flexibility?

Q : emepror how much extra power does the molex provide for the GPU's and is this essential for P55 GPU OC'ing?
A : 10 15 amps more of +12v, +5v - +12v yes for multi cards they draw quite a lot from slotss essential, no, unless 3 cards and the cards are heavy oc |

Q : moose517 has the size of the power traces to the PCIe slots been widended on the p55 boards, i have heard that people have actually had to mod the x58's to get more power to the GPU's when running 3 or even four of them
A : it has actuualy been widened on the x58, the bad thing for doing this is that u do not limit the power the cards can draw and so it makes your 24 pin connector hot , so we add molex to help - would u prefer it if we narrow it like other mobos and so u have bad vga oc? |
