Awards of the EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC GAMING (06G-P4-6163-KR)
The EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SC card we tested embodies every advance we've been led to expect from the move to next-generation process technologies, and I'm happy to send it home with an Editor's Choice award.
...if you want the right now performance of the 1060 I think this is a very good choice, it's small, and quiet enough for HTPC use or small form factor builds, and overclocking was right in the same range as larger more overbuilt cards.
The bottom line for the EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC is that it is a really great offering for the price. At $259.99 you get a graphics card that outpaces the GTX 980 from the previous generation and supports all the newest features.
For around USD $260 (price on EVGA website), you get a powerful graphics card that is able to run all videogames at fullHD resolutions with max settings while keeping the power consumption to a reasonable value. The GTX 1060 is between the GTX 970 and the GTX 980 in the performance side. The card is quiet at idle while some noise is produced under load which should not be a problem in a PC case.
If you are buying a fast video card right now and looking for good performance for a better than entry-level VR or for maxed out 1920×1080 or even higher resolution gaming, the EVGA GTX 1060 SC is an excellent choice
this thing performs really well and runs really cool, and even overclocked to 2100MHz it never got about 65 Celsius.
Performance is in line with bigger boards, noise is kept down to a minimum and it's only a BIOS quirk that prevents the card from ticking all the right boxes
the GTX 1060 SC is head and shoulders above the other 1060’s I’ve tested. To add to that, it actually has a lower MSRP.
But if just want a single graphics card that can absolutely blow the doors off of triple A titles at 1080p or 1440p on high or max settings, it does it quiet, efficient, and pretty much silent.
For $249 after rebate the GeForce GTX 1060 SC is pretty amazing!
