What size of PSU, and how old is it? Have you set the gpu back to default clocks and voltage? What happens then? Have you recently updated to the latest Nvidia drivers, that maybe started causing the issues?

psu is a kingwin 1250 watt modular psu, about a year and 3 months old. The gpus are both as stock right now. I have 296.10 as the driver currently. the gpu still artifacts, i haven't had them overlcocked since the weather got warmer.

This driver set doesn't play too well with the x58 boards in my experience

logan801 This driver set doesn't play too well with the x58 boards in my experience interesting, like everything was fine, then this started happening. Let me see if switching the cards positions helps.

logan801 This driver set doesn't play too well with the x58 boards in my experience 1+ I would go to the 285.xx WHQL ones. And hmm, that's a nice enough PSU, just not the best brand. But honestly I think if the PSU was going out, it'd just crash instead of artifacting red. Also maybe try to re-seat both cards, and take off the SLI bridge, blow it out, and wipe off the SLI connections on the card, then re-try.
