Hyper 212 Push Pull Vs Push Only? Sunday, February 05, 2012 3:12 PM (permalink)
Just curious, does using a push pull set up on a Hyper 212 improve cooling performance or no? I ask because I just replaced my Hyper N520 with a Hyper 212, so far I am loving it. Definitely out performs the N520 and it seems to be cooling better then the h60 I had. Only problem is my memory is getting in the way of the fan if I install it with the fan on the side of the memory. I only have 2 sticks of memory but four slots. That is another question I have. So is Push/Pull better rather then stock Pushing?

As for the memory question, I have an Asus M4N75TD nFORCE 750a motherboard and I have four slots to put memory in.
Dimm A 1/Dimm B 1/  Dimm A 2/ Dimm B 2

That is what my memory slots look like. I checked in the manual I got with the motherboard and couldnt find this answer out. Can I place my 2 sticks of memory in Dimm B, making Dimm A slots empty? Or do the Dimm A slots have to be filled?

Need an opinion on whether or not push pull set up on a hyper 212 is worth it? I will probably try to test it out later today but wanted to get some opinions on it first.

it does drop the temps a bit under load, i had a push pull set up with the hyper 212 before switching to the EVGA superclock cooler (got it free and it just looks awesome is the only reason i switched) the hyper 212 with push/pull is almost just as good as the EVGA cooler at half the price but it doesn't look as awesome :P

Ty for your post. Yeah I would have tried to get the Evga Superclocker but not only was I worried about it fitting but I didnt have the money to spend on that. As it is the Hyper 212 Dual Fan set up does not fit my system because of the memory. So if there isn't any good way to get around this with out adjusting the placement of the fans on the hyper 212, it looks like if I want to run a Push/Pull system I will have to mount the fans a little bit higher then where they normally would be. Will this be an issue or does it matter as long as it is only a small part of the fans that won't be covering the heatsink?

Will do thanks man.. Ill do before and after here..

At the moment I am using a Cooler Masters Hyper 212+ to cool my AMD Athlon II X4 635 processor. It is stock clocked at 2.9ghz and it is running stable at 3.48Ghz with a use of 1.375 volts. My memory is set to 1600Mhz @ 1.5V. Currently the Hyper 212+ is running with only one fan pushing into the heatsink. The temps at full load are currently 44C-45C while running prime95. So I think that is pretty awesome considering that I couldn't even get prime95 to work passed test 5 on the first length and now it is running for 30+minutes each time. I get to length 10k, do 5 tests at this length then call it quits assuming that it is running stable. In a little while I while try to run a Push/Pull setup on the Hyper 212+ and check back in. I will upload pics later of both before and after.
