Hi, i run the i7 980 in my Classified 759 Board with the "new" 83 Bios. The CPU runs fine, but Turbo Mode don´t work(is activated in Bios Setup of course.). The CPU run at 3,33 Ghz and clocking down (1,5Ghz) without load. Well, so far so good...but it would be nice to get a hint, or better a Biosupdate(i know the Bord is 2 years old, but hey - here is EVGA, not any other Manufacturer)
And running the CPU at a higher Clockspeed without Speedstep is no choice for me, because running the CPU at 3,6Ghz or more on Idle is for me a waste of power....

the turbo mode is actived on demand when charge need more power , in eleet show the multiplicator for each core ?
 
I supose is not exteme edition cpu
 

Go into BIOS and turn off speed step, this will prevent the down clock, Turbo mode only works at stock CPU multaplier which I belive is 25 with a +1 for turbo. 3.33 MHZ 3.6 with turbo , There are two versions of the 980, one with X and a unlocked multaplier, and one with a locked multaplier, The 759 needs a hard mod I belive to unlock the turbo function,
on the locked CPU's 970/980 If your adjusting Mem speed make sure Turbo performance is Off, that's difrent than turbo mode, and will lock your Mem multaplier at 2:8 
 



Most people just Overclock and do not worry about Turbo, as the hard mod, requires EVGA intervention.

KMoore4318 - ah, good to know! And you´re right - i think i stay with the 3,33Ghz and forget about the Turbomode - hard mod would be no choice for me. If i need more Power, i push it via Bios   - and thank you very much for that Tip with the  Turbo performance....i was searching also Help with my 1600 RAM, wich runs in Bios 1600, but Eleet shows only 530(1060)....

and yes, Mem runs now with 1600...(but i have to slow down the Timings to 8-8-8-24-82 instead of 7-7-7-24-72(bsod)
