The BETA just confirmed my excitement. WvW is amazing
Re:Guild Wars 2 Performance (Killmur)

tet5uo

Blizzie

You said the keyword: Beta.

Beta testing is created for a purpose -- to test the game and see where the issues lie. You don't go into a beta expecting a polished game.

yeah, but most betas aren't even really beta's anymore, just a way to market the game.

This can be applied rather sadly to SWTOR. If I had known the beta events were a way to market a lackluster MMO I would never of gone for SWTOR. I plan on getting GW2 when it releases though.
Re:Guild Wars 2 Performance (Hawaiiboi808)

A friend of mine on the beta said the game was smooth. There wasn't any video or isp lag. I think she's rockin a P67T board with a 400 series nvida graphics card. She mention she had max graphics settings at 1080 reso. I'm guessing her minimum fps never dipped below 30 fps. She's probably not even rocking the latest Nvidia driver...
Re:Guild Wars 2 Performance (forrestang)

What were the opinions of the game itself?

My buddy has been just gushing about the game. I've never been into MMOs, but I kind of want to own one just so I have one, and since there is no pay-2-play, this one might be ok.

Thoughts?
Re:Guild Wars 2 Performance (Khalus)

Hag3rd

They said the BETA was CPU depended and also stuck on DX9.

^This. ANet said this past weekends beta was for mass testing of CPU bound performance. No matter what GPU you had it made no difference. Hopefully for the next beta weekend they'll turn GPU back on so we can see the real performance, but its almost a certainty that anyone with a 570, 580 or 680 are going to be fine with 70+fps anywhere.
Re:Guild Wars 2 Performance (phades)

tet5uo

Blizzie

You said the keyword: Beta.

Beta testing is created for a purpose -- to test the game and see where the issues lie. Also, the beta doesnt support SLI, not sure if the final game will at launch.
Guild Wars 2 Performance (sheckie81)

 Hey all,

Did anyone else play the beta this weekend and have awful performance??

I didn't really get too fair into the beta as pretty much every starter zone I was getting a max of around 40 FPS with the game maxed out ( I feel Tera is much more graphically demanding and I get 60 FPS constant with that game ). Even lowering the settings didn't do that much for the FPS. Some areas with a lot going on I saw a dip into the high teens.....that's terrible.
